Interested in learning an instrument and/or traditional marching? We are recruiting now!
Here at Thurmaston Marching Brass, we welcome new Band Members to join us through our Band Trainees programme and doing this is easy.
To join the Thurmaston Scout and Guide Band you have to be a member of the Scout Association or Girl Guiding from any group, not just Thurmaston.
We run a Band Trainees programme on a Monday night (18:00-19:00) at our Thurmaston Headquarters and during this time, which lasts several months, we teach our trainees to march, play an instrument and read music; no prior knowledge of these is required.
In addition to this the Band provides each Trainee with a musical instrument. All of this for just £1 a week! At the end of the Trainee Programme, family and friends are invited to a graduation ceremony to celebrate our newest band members.
